We are seeking a Sales Manager at the Tru by Hilton in Lehi, UT which is scheduled to open Spring 2020. This role will work collaboratively with a highly-talented and passionate team.  We believe that sales fundamentals are at the heart of our daily actions and that we should all be creative and bold to make lasting memories for guests, customers and team.

SALES MANAGER JOB SUMMARY

Leads and manages all day-to-day activities related to the sales function with a focus on acquiring & building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of property sales objectives. Achieves personal booking goals.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of hotel Sales Experience, preferably in a major brand
  • Proven track record in sales and leading teams
  • Four-year college degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Analytical skills with knowledge of hospitality trends and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-driven
  • Strong proficiency in communication and public speaking
  • Must possess strategic account management, closing, and negotiating skills
  • Have a LinkedIn profile and know how to use social media to network and find sales leads

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

 

Developing & Executing Sales Strategies while Maximizing Revenue

  • Create and implement a sales and marketing plan addressing revenue, demand generators, and target customers.
  • Develop quarterly sales action plans.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external.
  • Provides positive and best in class leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential.
  • Recommends booking goals for sales team members.

 

Managing Sales Activities

  • Monitors all day to day sales activity for self. Ensures that majority of time is spent on proactive selling activities and that they are tracked in the property CRM.
  • Approves meeting room needs to maximize revenue.
  • Participates in sales calls and blitz's with GM to acquire new business and/or close on business.
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).

 

Analyzing & Reporting on Sales and Financial Data

  • Analyzes market information by using sales systems and implements strategy to achieve property's financial goals.
  • Assists Revenue Management with completing accurate forecasts.

 

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service

  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies customer service and creates a positive example for guest relations. Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals.
  • Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to the company.

 

Building Successful Relationships

  • Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative.
  • Host and Attends customer events, trade shows and sales missions to maintain, build or develop key relationships with customers.
