Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.

Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.

Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.

Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.

Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.

Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.

Developing quotes and proposals for clients.

Developing goals for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met.

Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills.

Work collaboratively with other hotel team members to ensure sales efforts are coordinated.  Brainstorm with the team on how to generate new business, and maintain current business. Track all leads in SalesPro.

Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and how to sell against them.

Ensure business booked is within the hotel's goals. Close the best opportunities for each property based on market conditions and individual property needs.

Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence). Transfer accurate, complete, and timely information to property in accordance with brand standards.

Drive customer loyalty through excellent customer service throughout the sales process. Serve the customer by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate features and services that best meet their needs. Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.

 

Business Development Manager Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field.

Experience in sales, marketing or related field.

Strong communication skills and IT fluency.

Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.

Excellent organizational skills.

Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.

Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
